Durch den Vollrand der Fassung sind deine Gläser perfekt geschützt. Die Schmetterlingsform ist nicht nur elegant, sondern auch sportlich und passt hervorragend zu jedem Outfit und Gesichtstyp. Besonders aber zu rechteckigen oder quadratischen Gesichtsformen. Durch die geschwungene Form wirkt die Fassung wie ein Weichzeichner im Gesicht und lässt dieses "weicher" erscheinen.

Das Mittelteil ist aus sehr widerstandsfähigem Acetat gefertigt. In der Farbe "grau rosé verlauf" wirkt die Fassung elegant und doch sportlich zugleich. Dieses Kunststoffmaterial ist überwiegend ein Naturprodukt und besteht zum größten Teil aus Baumwolle. Die Verträglichkeit dieses Materials ist sehr hoch und auch Allergiker haben keine Probleme mit diesem Material.

Die Brillenbügel sind aus Metall gefertigt. In der Farbe "grau rosa kariert" harmonisieren die Bügel perfekt mit dem Mittelteil.

Mit den Federscharnieren wird der Tragekomfort verbessert. Diese machen unter anderem das Gestell flexibler und die Brille sitzt besser am Kopf. Ebenso wird die Handhabung der Brille verbessert. Außerdem besitzt die Brille bewegliche Nasenpads, die ein Rutschen der Brille verhindert.

Fine for a man (with skinny wrists)

I have an older mens ironman which has gotten a little beat up and needs replacing. The band is much longer than I need. The metal clasp sits off-center on the underside of my wrist, closer to the part of my wrist which curves around to the front. The too-long strap sometimes flops around and catches on things. I couldn't find a smaller-band mens version, so I tried this "womens" watch (picking the most manly-looking one, of course). I like it better. The band fits my wrist much better, with the metal band in the middle and no flop. I also like that the watch is lighter and the face and band are smaller and less bulky, so it is less noticeable when I'm wearing it (cycling weight weenies will appreciate this). The face is still large enough to be easily legible and contains all of the same great features as my mens ironman watch, plus the newer versions now have an hourly chime, nice! Other info: my wrist is ~17.5cm or ~7.0" around. On this watch, I use the 6th out of 9 slots on the band. On my mens ironman, I use the 3rd out of 9 slots. Weight: this one = 28g, mens = 39g. Pics show comparison of my prior mens ironman with this new "womens" ironman. Photo order is confusing (couldn't figure out how to change that). They are: (1) side-by-side, mens on left, (2) mens band (wider and clasp is off-center on my wrist, end of band hangs over the edge of my wrist -- too long for me -- catches on things), (3) womens band (less wide, clasp is more centered on my wrist and end does hang over edge of my wrist), (3) womens watch (smaller, and looks new), and (5) mens watch, looking a little beat up.

Watch holds up in saltwater!

I bought this watch to use for my trip to the Galapagos Islands. I read two reviews that the watch does not hold up in salt water. I went snorkeling in the ocean 6 times, about 45 minutes each time. The watch did not leak. I did take precautions by keeping the watch under my rash guard and lowering myself slowly into the water. I also rinsed off my watch each time I snorkeled. I also bought this watch for the multi time zone feature by saving the time on the west coast, east coast and Galapagos time since I cannot change the time on my Fitbit until I land in an airport. I did not use any other features of the watch because I generally use my phone or Fitbit for an alarm or timer. The only complaint I have is that Timex now discourages changing the battery by the consumer. I changed the battery myself on my old Ironman watch. The new Ironman watch is fitted with triangular head screws. So I will have to purchase screwdrivers with triangular heads when it comes time to change the battery.
