Description:

A super rare, 1982 Tokai TEX-80 CR Special Model produced at the height of Japan's "lawsuit era" of hyper-accurate replica builds. The TEX80 was a top-tier model in Tokai’s Explorer series, originally retailing for 80,000 Japanese Yen.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Tokai Gakki factory in Shizuoka, Japan, mastered the art of reverse-engineering golden-era American electric guitars. Their Special Edition TEX series faithfully replicated the iconic 1958 Explorer design down to the minor cosmetic and hardware details. The TEX80 sat at the upper end of this specific product catalog, offering superior wood selection and premium aesthetic touches compared to lower-numbered tiers like the TEX70.

This one remains in excellent all-original condition. The metals show aging/finish pitting but otherwise remains in very clean condition, frets are excellent, finish shows only light playwear and minor dings with no major marks/deep scratches or chips and no major damage/blemishes. Plays amazing and incredibly light weight at 7lbs 8oz. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes Epiphone branded semi-hard case.

From the web:

The 1982 Tokai TEX-80 is an exceptionally rare, highly collectible "Special Model". A highly coveted Gibson Explorer replica built during the golden "lawsuit era" of Made in Japan (MIJ) guitars. Produced by Tokai Gakki in Shizuoka, Japan, these guitars are revered by collectors for their flawless build quality, which frequently rivaled or surpassed American production of the same period.

  • Top & Finish: It features a striking flame grain top wrapped in a vibrant Cherry Sunburst finish.
  • Aesthetics & Body: Unlike the standard '58 Explorer replicas (like the TEX-70), the TEX-75/TEX-80 models were "Special Models" that adopted an 80s-inspired look. This included a bound body closely mimicking the aesthetic of Gibson's E/2 CMT (Curly Maple Top) guitars.

This is the ONLY paper that works well with SP-1
Style: 100ct
This is the only paper that works well with the Brother SP-1 sublimation printer. The instructions on using the paper are a little weird, but as long as the cut corner remains in the lower right of the printer tray, you'll be okay. I can't say that there's a lot of consistency in printing with this paper. Sometimes photos I've printed for items look really great, other times the photos are quite muted. This is a CMYK printer, which means you won't see the vibrant colors you see on your computer monitor. Often a red-boost in saturation in PS will help with some of that problem. The other issue is there's no real color management profile defined if you're printing directly from Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Even if you use matching CMYK colors in your artwork, don't expect those colors to work in sublimation. For simple artwork, with few color gradations, this seems to work pretty well. So, if you have an SP-1, this is the only paper you should use.

Amazing product!
Set name: Sublimation Printer, Set name: Sublimation Printer
All I can say is "WOW". I was skeptical about changing over from my Sawgrass to another brand of sublimation printers. But now I wish I started here from the start! Not only does this machine cost a good amount less with the same paper sizes and options as my SG500 but the ink is cheaper per cartridge and 11ml larger than the standard 30ml I am use to. Set up was super easy, as well as the connection. My prints are bold, bright, and beautiful. I am amazed! I am thankful that the details in the prints show through no matter what material I am pressing on. As a business owner, I need a good, efficient printer that doesn't cost more than the product I am selling. I can't wait to continue using my machine. I have not run into any maintenance issue and can not speak on anything of that as of now. Attached photos; however, my camera did not do it justice.
