The 3M™ PELTOR™ MT14H418A-92 GE ComTac™ VIII Multi Comm Headset is a high-performance tactical communication headset designed to support law enforcement and other professionals operating in high-noise or mission-critical environments. Finished in a sleek charcoal grey, this over-the-head style headset delivers reliable two-way communication and hearing protection while promoting auditory situational awareness. Engineered for demanding environments, the ComTac VIII offers level-dependent ambient listening to enhance user awareness of surrounding sounds while protecting against harmful impulse and steady-state noise.
Featuring a wired NATO-compatible connection and dynamic, noise-cancelling speech microphone, the headset supports clear communication even in high-noise settings. Though it lacks Bluetooth and built-in radios, it connects easily to external two-way radios using a single lead and a Nexus 5-Con connection. This unit is not intrinsically safe or helmet-mounted by default, but it is compatible with select helmets when converted using an optional PELTOR™ attachment accessory (Part # P3ADG47-F SV/2).
The ComTac VIII is powered by either rechargeable or disposable AAA batteries, offering approximately 50 hours of runtime. A key feature of the headset is the Mission Audio Profiles (MAP) system, which allows users to tailor the listening experience based on environmental acoustics. Additional features such as earplug mode, environmental soundscaping, and robust testing against military standards ensure optimal performance under pressure. Built for tactical applications, the ComTac VIII helps enhance communication clarity and user protection, making it an essential tool for professionals in law enforcement and other high-stakes industries.
