A tour de force of workmanship, this 18k gold Victorian brooch is hand tooled with stunning detail, lifelike in its intricacy. Its centerpiece is the head of a ram with Old Mine Cut rubies for eyes and horns that wrap around the body of the pin. The ram is mature: his horns are long from his many years of life and they intertwine with the pin with scrolling flourish. His fur is stippled, its texture emphasized by a glowing patina, while his horns are textured with elegantly carved lines that detail and shade the curves. The pin has a barbell-esque shape, with cubed terminals that feature Etruscan Revival cannetille work and floral medallions. The 18k gold has developed a gorgeous multicolored patina, lustrous in its hues of greens, coppers, and reds, giving added depth to this beautiful piece.

Etruscan Revival jewelry has a rich and interesting history. In the early 1800’s there was a large excavation of Etruscan tombs outside of Rome. Within these tombs were pieces of original Etruscan jewelry. The Etruscans were master artisans, they created breathtaking pieces of jewelry through their use of gold wirework and granulation, colored gemstones and glass. The news of the excavation of these tombs, and the treasures contained inside them, spread throughout Europe. Etruscan style jewelry captured the imagination of the public and soon jewelers were intrigued by the designs. Etruscan revival jewelry rose to popularity with the people of the Victorian era. Inspired by the Etruscans, jewelers implemented the use of wirework, beading, filigree, and granulation.

A substantial piece hand constructed from hollow gold, the brooch has a weight of 14.6 grams. Its length is 2 3/4”, height of the rams head is approximately 3/4” and height of the cubes are approximately 1/2”. The depth, at its thickest point, is approximately 3/4”. The brooch looks perfect styled on a blazer.

Circa 1870, this is the work of a Victorian jeweler who was clearly using this piece to show off their artistry and rendering skills!

Base of you is very durable
Color: Blue
Overall this is a fun toy. My German Shepherd loves it. The ropes were chewed off within the first hour which was disappointing. Using it for treats did not work because the opening is so large. It has become only a chew toy and it is very durable. Since I bought this to enjoy the extra features, I am disappointed. I was able to buy three chew only toys for the same price. I still give it four stars because my dog likes it so much.

The dog will destroy the ropes and eat them be careful with this
Color: Blue
The rubber part is very durable but the strings or ropes are not. Puppy is eating the strings and having a hard time pooping them out. Just cut them off close to the knots and watch for them to eat the strings they pull off.

Is not as durable as they say for large dogs
Color: Multi-colored
My dog loved the fact he got a new toy and he loved the toy itself. Carrying it around and shaking it, that is. The ropes are small and pop right back out of the ball. They are more for a small dog to tug on. The suction is strong but still not strong enough for a 100 lbs Rotti. He kept grabbing the eleasic ropes and pulling off the floor.

Even the rope is awesome!
Color: Multi-colored
The suction power on this wasn’t the greatest. Even using the sticky patch provided didn't keep it stuck to the floor. I will say though: I was terrified it would destroy the cheap flooring I put it on, but the sticky stuff didn’t harm the floor at all. The toy itself has been fantastic. My pup loves to chew on all parts of it (the ball, the suction piece, and the rope) and it’s held up against his jaws of steel. I will be purchasing another one of these once he’s finally destroyed the original (we’ve had it almost 3 months with just about daily use).
