ويسميه الأحباش التابوت. وهو عبارة عن قطعة مستطيلة من الخشب يكرس بالميرون وعليه رسوم الصليب في أركانه ووسطه واسم الرب يسوع وبعض آيات "أساساته في الجبال المقدسة" (مز 87: 1)، "مذابحك يا رب اله القوات" (مز 84: 83) ويشترط لوجود هذا اللوح على المذبح لإمكان التقديس كما يمكن التقديس عليه بمفرده في حالات الضرورة القصوى ليحل محل المذبح. إذا كانوا يحملونه في أيام الاضطهاد ويكلمون عليه صلاة القداس إذا ما هوجمت الكنيسة وعلى هذا الأساس أمكن إقامة القداسات في القرى البعيدة عن الكنائس والبلاد النائية في الصحارى مع تخصيص المنضدة التي سيوضح عليها اللوح للصلاة فقط فلا تستعمل لأمر عالمي آخر.
