How can a parasol be maintained?

To be able to continue to enjoy your parasol for a long time, we advise that you allow the wet or damp fabric of the parasol to dry whilst the parasol is open. If the fabric of the canopy becomes wet whilst it is closed, open it as soon as possible to dry out. Fallen leaves and bird droppings should be removed as soon as possible to avoid staining.

Loose dirt can be brushed off with a soft brush. Stains can be removed using tepid water, a soft brush and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

When opening, closing and turning the parasol, make sure that the fabric of the parasol does not come into contact with any walls, etc. and that the fabric does not become trapped between the parts. After closing the parasol, pull all of the fabric sections out separately and fully from the ribs of the parasol.

Before winding open cantilever parasols, gently separate the spokes to avoid them tangling together and putting pressure on the winding mechanism.

When the parasol is not in use, always use a protective cover to prevent unnecessary wear and tear caused by the effects of the weather and fading from exposure to sunlight.

Can parasols be left up and outside?

We do not recommend leaving parasols outside when not in use. Fabrics will fade and become brittle when left exposed to our climate for long periods and wind gusts are one of the biggest causes of damages to tables with parasols inserted, and parasols themselves.

Claims of this nature are not covered under warranty.

This is a good book to read and understand how the European nations deployed their armies around the world to extract natural resources from other nations. Now, we have developing and underdeveloped nations.

Interesting book, dull period
Format: Paperback
As a Marxist historian, Hobsbawm sees the world at this time, as well as the modern world, as a playground for the forces of capitalism. He apologizes for taking a eurocentric approach to world history, while acknowledging that Europe largely determined the course of world events during this period. In spite of the title, there actually isn't much discussion of colonial empires; Hobsbawm seems more interested in how the Age of Empire affected the rulers more than the ruled. His Marxist sympathies are in evidence and at times make his conclusions a bit predictable, but some of his cultural critiques are quite brilliant. The chapter on the dilemmas posed by modern science is exceptional. Reading a book like this seems to me much more interesting than actually living in this period would have been.
