- Documentary films are the rock and roll of our times. Why are they made? Who are in the tribe of documentary film-makers? Do their films really change the world?
- Eighteen years ago, Nick Fraser created BBC Storyville, producing films that won Oscars, BAFTAs, and Peabody Awards. He found filmmakers from all across the world covering important subjects in documentaries. In Say What Happened he describes the frenzied, intense world of documentary film-making, tracing its history back to the early pioneers, such as Dziga Vertov and his ground-breaking Man with a Movie Camera
- The book deals with the British documentary tradition founded by John Grierson, and discusses the work of American masters such as the Maysles brothers, Frederick Wiseman and D.A. Pennebaker, as well as Europeans such as Marcel Ophuls, Claude Lanzmann, Chris Marker, and Werner Herzog. He interviews acclaimed documentary filmmakers and discusses the work of Ken Burns, Errol Morris, and Joshua Oppenheimer, among others across the globe, as well as listing his top one-hundred documentaries, and where readers can watch them
- In a world beset with ‘fake news’, he argues documentaries are better at getting at the verities about life and death and that the new journalism will come from films made using new technology

Digital textbook code already redeemed
Format: Hardcover
This book arrived unwrapped. Inside the textbook there was a return packing slip from Aug 2024 that someone forgot to remove. Unsurprisingly, upon checking I realized that someone already redeemed the digital textbook code that accompanies the book.
I was sent an opened textbook that someone purchased and stole the digital code before returning.

Buyers Beware! New Doesn't Mean New :/
Format: Hardcover
Buyers beware: despite this being labeled as NEW on the product description, I soon discovered that the e-Book code had already been redeemed. Not only is this incredibly frustrating for academic reasons (i.e., the need to use the e-Book to take mandatory quizzes assigned by my professor), but it is also just so annoying to deal with when the book was already a very costly purchase.

One of the better ones!
Format: Hardcover
As law school text books go, this has definitely been one of the easier to read. I’m hoping that translates to a good grade!

Hilarious Nonfiction!
Format: Hardcover
I'm always on the lookout for a nonfiction book that will grab the students' attention. This is it! The author does a great job of melding accurate information with a fun format. Of course, there's also the narrative tension of not knowing the superpower until the very end, so readers never stop turning the pages. Am excited to see this is a series. Will order the second book today!
