For this years release the distillery has incorporated a much higher proportion of Port casks enhancing the the creaminess to the whisky to combine with the peppery spice from the STR barriques.
Harvest Edition is inspired by the end of the Summer when the golden barley is harvested and eventually used for producing next years Lowland whisky at Lochea Distillery.
Nose: Dates, ripe red grapes, thick-cut marmalade. Some notes include apple, ginger snaps, and dried fruit.
Palate: Pink peppercorns, dried fruits, and a touch of walnut. Some descriptions also mention chocolate-covered raspberries, sweet spice.
Finish: A beautiful, lingering creamy finish. Some notes also include sticky toffee, sweet tobacco, and red grapes.
