The History Teacher I Always Wished For

I found myself laughing out loud one moment and profoundly moved the next. In short, Eric Metaxas is the history teacher I always wished I had. At 600 pages, this book reads with the ease and momentum of a paperback novel, yet carries extraordinary depth and scholarship. In the end, I came away with a renewed love for American history and a deeper gratitude for the souls who made this great country possible.

A fun, inspiring, thought-provoking read.
Format: Kindle
A witty, learned page-turner, replete with wacky anecdotes but suffused by wisdom and patriotic love. Metaxas shows how the biblical view of the human person made America possible, and weaves throughout the story pieces of evidence that Providence actively aided the pious patriots against their cynical, post-Christian enemies in Britain. I devoured this book in 72 hours, and now I want to go back and read it again.

EXCELLENT! Just the book I wanted to prepare for the 250th. Less textbook, more like a long chat with a friend.
