These stockingfoot model features 4mm 3 panel neoprene socks using a new cutting design making them the best fitting most comfortable waders ever. In addition to the high-density sole panel which prevents heel compression leaks this cutting-style tapers the ankles to remove excess material which can otherwise crease up inside wading boots. The 3-panel design ensures all the seams run around and not under the feet for a more moulded fit and added comfort. The integral gravel guards have front lacing hooks and rubberised elastication around the bottm to prevent them riding up when walking.

Material

Snowbee have retained their popular Soft-Touch (ST) material so liked by anglers. What sets this apart from other breathable wader materials is the outerlay which has a 'peach-skin' finish. Not only does this look and feel superb but the finish makes it totally flexible rustle-free and silent. Snowbee have incorporated this into a new unique 3-layer material which takes breathable wader technology onto a completely new level.

This top quality breathable material is a blend of 24% nylon 59% polyester and 17% polyurethane to provide strength and durability. The outer material has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment rated at L10/80 - meaning it retains 80% of its DWR performance even after washing 10 times. The inner laminate utilises Snowbee's highly reliable Vapour-Tec breathable membrane for superior performance providing a breathability of 4 000g/m2/24hrs and a hydrostatic water pressure resistance (Waterproofness) of 15 000mm.

Design

The STX2 range utilises Snowbee's well proven cutting style and proved to be the best fitting most comfortable waders ever made. Snowbee have combined all the previous Standard FB and Short size fittings into one size chart for convenience.

Over the years Snowbee have learnt that the majority of breathable wader leaks are caused by puncture damage. Needle sharp gorse or thorns can cause pin-pricks in breathable material invisible to the naked eye but so frustrating when entering the water. To help avoid this Snowbee's current models feature a second layer of material wher it is needed most - down the front of the legs from above the knee to the sock or boot join and on the seat of the waders. This additional layer takes the overall thickness up to a class leading 6-layers but by utilising two separate layers they still retain their high breathability - unlike 5-layer materials which have limited breathability.

The twin front pockets are fitted with top quality waterproof YKK pocket zips to provide fly box leader or accessory pockets for those cold spring and autumn days.

It's How Wars End That Become Important Afterward
Format: Paperback
The twentiety century taught us a lot about wars and how they end. World War I showed us that making strong demands on the defeated (who didn't admit defeat to their own people) set the stage for the next big war. World War II was fought until the Unconditional Surrender of the Germans and Japanese. Something that thinkers still debate as having made them fight all that harder. VietNam was fought with no clear end in sight, and "another VietNam" entered our language. The first Gulf War was ended when Colin Powell and Bush II debated how to end the war. They stopped before they had to go in and see what the Sunni's, Shiite's and Kurds made of the power vacuum left by the removal of Saddam would have created. Bush II is learning about this now. This is the second revised edition of this book, originally published in 1971 and then updated in 1991 and now 2005 to reflect happenings in new wars. Still some of the old wars had interesting insights that I didn't know before, such as how Finland, originally on Germany's side against Russia, made a peace with Russia and kicked the Germans out before they became a Russian province. Great Book.

Complementary readings
Format: Paperback
There are already three good reviews so I will only suggest reading the following books instead of, or in addition to, this peculiar work: a) "War in human civilization" by Azar Gat; b) "War before Civilization. The Myth of the Peaceful Savage", by Lawrence Keeley; c) "How War Began" by Keith F. Otterbein; d) "War and Peace and War: The Rise and Fall of Empires" by Peter Turchin; and e) "War and the Law of Nations: A General History" by Stephen Neff.

Excellent short-book analysis
Format: Paperback
This short book is an outstanding analysis of how nations end wars, or accept peace. Ikle shows how governments often prefer obviously self-destructive courses rather then compromise peace terms. The problem is most acute when factional interests dominate strategy rather then a rational unitary interest. In such a circumstance, factions that benefit from continuing the war will accuse those pursuing peace of treason. Sadly, there is no equivalent derogatory word in English for those who pursue war to the detriment of their country. The book was first written in 1971, and most of the examples are from the two world wars. The work is still extremely relevant, and at 130 pages it's well worth the time. Highly recommended as a first book to read on ending war.
