Fitting and handling

Simply peel and press the tape along the full length of each joist before laying boards - the tape self-seals around screw fixings as you drive them through, so no additional sealing is required at fixing points. Rolls can be overlapped without adding significant height to the subframe, and the tape is repositionable before final pressing so you can correct alignment without waste.

Yes. Walther Strong Deck Tape adheres to treated and untreated timber, including damp timber, so it is compatible with pressure-treated C16 and C24 joists commonly used in UK decking subframes.
Which width should I choose - 50mm or 100mm?
The 50mm roll suits standard 47mm joists where you want edge-to-edge coverage with minimal overhang. The 100mm roll is better suited to wider bearers, doubled-up joists or situations where you want the tape to wrap slightly down the joist sides for added protection.
How long does deck tape last once applied?
Walther Strong Deck Tape is rated for up to 50 years of service life. It is fully UV stable, so exposure through gaps in the decking boards will not degrade the adhesive bond over time.
